Today - March 1st - marks our 1 year anniversary of budgeting (using the ynab 'you need a budget' method), and did we need a budget!
I won't say too much, but just that this system has revolutionalized the way we spend, save and think about money.
12 months = one debt completely wiped out, money saved for retirement, money saved for emergencies, and ultimately, incredible peace of mind.
I have a feeling this system will be sticking around....

I would like to know more about this method. Sounds interesting.
It's been awesome for us...Basically its built on 4 principles,
1/ Stop living paycheck to paycheck (so you save up a buffer - or one months worth of expenses)
2/ Give every dollar a job (you budget your available money to 0 each month - every dollar is assigned to a category)
3/ Prepare for rain (you start saving monthly for big bills, ie tax bills, etc)
4/ Roll with the punches (if you overspend in one month, it gets taken away from how much you have to budget the following month)
